Displaced Children in a Global Context Conference

The conference, which is linked to The Mice Hub (www.micehub.port.ac.uk/), will focus on issues around wellbeing, mental health, development and education of child refugees and internally displaced children and will host the following guest speakers:

  • Dr Rana Dajani, Associate Professor at Hashemite University, Jordan and Founder and Director of the ‘We Love Reading’ programme for child refugees.
  • Dr Nora Wiium, Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Bergen, Norway, expert on youth development in a global context.
  • Professor Helen Haste, Professor Emerita from the University of Bath and the University of Harvard Graduate School, and an expert on youth civic participation in a global context.
  • As well as Dr Wendy Sims-Schouten, Reader in Childhood Studies and Dr Ann Emerson, Lecturer in Education from the University of Portsmouth.
